Applied Spirituality Media Event

Hello Everyone!

For a few months now I have been writing for several different online publications. This past week I was interviewed by Pat Lynch, CEO and Editor-in-Chief at Women'sRadio.com on her show Speak Up!

Pat is a dynamo undertaking an enormous vision of creating a single place of resources for women (and men) in new thought, entrepreneurship, and way more. Just before she finishes one idea she's launched 12 more ideas. She is supported by her family, Dave Barrett guru at AudioAcrobat, her daugher Kat Barrett, and her soon to be son-in-law Brian Ball.

I joined Women's Radio because they are a sincere and quality organization. They do what they say they're going to do and they are transparent. Pat's line up of interviews reads like the Who's Who of American Women including such notables as Gloria Allred, Dyan Cannon, Fiona Ma, Martina Fuchs, Joan Buchanan and many more.

Creating by Default: Pictures of Torture

Good Morning Everyone!

Most of us create by default. We notice whatever passes by our awareness and fixate on that. That's what the news is; an opportunity to choose what we choose to give our attention to.

This morning in the McClatchy News is an article about the public viewing of pictures of torture.

Why anyone would want to see them is quite beyond my ken. Then again, I'm always wondering why people have to gawk at a car wreck or see horror films of blood and gore.

We are powerful focusers of Source Energy - Life Force. This is the energy that creates worlds and universes. What we focus on, we make bigger and get more of.
Do we want more bloodshed and torture? Do we really want more war?

All of war is hideous. Every single bit of it. To think that when we go to war for some "noble" cause that some parts of it can be legislated as legal and ok and other parts of it not legal, and therefore, not ok is insanity. You can't support war in part.

We are being called to a higher level of consciousness, and therefore a higher level of operating. There is another way, and as our consciousness of God increases and penetrates our human mind, we will see there are infinite other ways to create our reality on Earth.

Perhaps if you see these pictures of torture you will be so repulsed that you will desire a new way, a better way for resolving conflicts here on Earth. Perhaps that is the "good" in viewing such a thing.

For my part, I choose not to see them or anything like it. I choose to go through my day seeing the Life in all things and the God in all people.

We are directed in Matthew 5:44 "But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you."

How many of us actually pray for our enemies? Or bless those that trouble us? Or do Good to those who are hateful to us? This is applied spirituality in action. It is not moving in the ways of human mind and human understanding. Doing that results in more of the same. To see the change we want to see in this world, we have to BE the change that we want to see. You can't be that change for Good whilst filling your mind and consciousness with things that are not of Good.

Today, look for and see the Good and the God in all things, people and situations. If you can't immediately, then allow that you may not see it now but you will, because God (Good) is everywhere. Be willing to see with New Eyes, then you will see a New View.

The Fear Pandemic: Choose Fear or Well Being

Good Morning Everyone,

Well, here we go again. Yet another thing to be afraid of: swine flu. Geez.

To my thinking, the pandemic is fear.

The question is: Are you buying in? That's the only thing that really matters.

Listen for one minute with your mind in today's world to words of wisdom and Connectedness from President Franklin Delano Roosevelt in his first inaugural address.

Since Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden and that little drama, we have had the choice of focusing on fear or Well Being. We call it good and evil; by any name it is the clear choice to focus on what is Well - Good - God.

The temptation is always to believe human-mind over Godmind. This is where you get to choose to apply your spirituality - your Life Force - your Attention - your consciousness. Because wherever you freely choose to focus is what you will indeed get more of; it's Law.

People wonder why bad things happen to good people. It's because they believe in the duality - something other than God and Well Being. Focused there, you get to create anything you want here on Earth, including your own demise.

You, me, we all are Creators of our own every day, moment to moment reality. We do it by the Laws of Physics. This Law is the Law of Attraction which says that thoughts are vibrational and the more you think them, the more they matter - become matter - become manifest and real in your reality.

It's time to become the Spiritual Beings that we are right here, right now in the physical and take responsibiliy: it's not hocus pocus the way we create, it's physics, because we are physical creatures in a physical world and a physical universe. Where we are focused is what we get.

Turn off the television, stop watching the news, and get yourself reconnected with your own Godchip guiding you to your Good at every moment.

All is truly well, if you are focused on Well Being. Look for the Good - it's full.

Thanks for reading!

Cleaning Up Your Vibrational Signature - Part 3: Changing Your Focus

Good Morning Everyone,

Turn OFF your televisions!

I repeat, turn off your televisions. If need be, for awhile, eliminate news radio, gossips, your old friends, and whomever or whatever is the old channel that you have been listening to that is a steady diet of negative and toxic vibrations. Listening and seeing toxic vibrations is just the same as eating chemical toxins. They are poison. They take you places you do not want to go.

When you entertain them, this is your point of focus in the now moment; and this is what you are busy creating more of.

In this third part of Changing Your Vibrational Signature, we are going to focus on changing your point of focus. It is important that you "get it" that doing or having the same vibrational signature (internal attitude), is always going to get you more of the same of what you are experiencing right now.

Are you sick of lack of money, ill health, disease, war, what? Then you must turn your focus away from what is and refocus yourself towards what is wanted.

This is why bad things happen to good people.

Each of us is responsible for our own internal attitude, countenance, vibrational offering. As you watch a television commercial for diabetes, what are you focusing your Source Energy on? Sickness! When you passively sit with talk radio on and listen to a steady stream of negative thoughts, criticisms, what's bad, what's wrong, who's to blame, ask yourself where are you focusing your Source Energy? Guess what you are going to experience in your life?

How to shift that focus:

1. Increase your awareness of how it feels to you.

You sit in the break room at work and listen to the same people saying the same things day after day: how disrespectful their children are, their husband is drinking, their mother is sick, doctor visits, diagnoses, treatments, a litany of stuff that cannot possibly feel good to you. Yet, you sit there and take it in. Why? Is it because you think it is impolite to leave? Who cares? This is your life! What you take in,you are focused on. What you are focused on is what you will get more of and what you contribute to the world.

What can you do?

Excuse yourself. Go outside and take a walk around the block with the intention of breathing fresh air, seeing something lovely, enjoying the feel of your body as it loves to move, breathe, see and hear and feel....Now notice how you feel inside. Better, of course. You feel more ease even Good.

2. Change Your Focus Deliberately.

So your wife is ranting and raving at you. Your boss is saying snide remarks. What can you do? Excuse yourself. You do not have to be there. You don't need to make a grand exit, having the last word, getting your dig in. Rather, you can say, "Excuse me, I just remembered, I need to..."

You are sovereign in your life. You get to say where you are, what you are present for, what you will listen to, and when and where you will place your focus. When you do excuse yourself from any situation, deliberately refocus on something that is lovely, good, uplifting, positive. Have a plan. Have some subjects at the ready that you can turn to, already prepared, that will help you shift your internal state. Like what? Well, the smile of child, the day at the beach, the taste of those fresh peaches last summer, the night sky, a lovely poem, or an inspirational quote.

So, your assignment this week? Change the channel and focus on what feels Good. Next installment: the art of focusing on what is wanted.

This is applied spirituality. This is being the conscious and deliberate Creator that you Are.

It's Attitude, Not Luck

Good Morning Everyone!

It's a winter wonderland in Ohio this morning. I think we have about 10 new inches of snow on the ground this morning. It is lovely; and it is still coming down! I'm heading out soon to make angels in the snow.

I rarely read sports stories, unless of course it is something compelling. Today there is a wonderful Cinderella story on Yahoo News about Sean McHugh of the Pittsburgh Steelers.

I love this story, because it takes place over a short time frame, which helps illustrate the internal energy (attitude) of McHugh.

Just four months ago McHugh was cut from the Detroit Lions, who by the way, have gone 0-16 this season claiming title as worst of the worst. I'll talk about their energy in a minute. However, this "bad" news came on the heels of news that he and his wife we going to have a second baby. Also, they had just purchased a home outside of Detroit. From these two items you can see they were "expanding". They were full of Life - Source Energy. The McHughes were allowing the Flow of Source through them. Skipity Doo Dah! Life is Good.

Mind you, they also had been doing a lot of asking (wishing and desiring) individually and together. So the Big Universe was busy delivering to them as long as they were allowing Source.

Then, seemingly out of nowhere, McHugh gets cut from the Lions. Shock. What the heck?

Fleetingly, like with all of us, there is fear, doubt, and all the other negative emotions. But key here, is that this disallowing was fleeting. I mean, when you get cut from the worst team, how would you feel? But hold on just a minute...they were on a roll of "allowing" and that same night, McHugh gets a call from the Steelers to come on down!

At this point I would like to stop, just a second, and point out the Law of Attraction operating here, which says "like is attracted to like". With the LOA in place, McHugh is a positive little elf, he's buying a home, he's having another baby, he's in LOVE with Life. His energy is not a match to the energy of Detroit and the Lions. So he's gotta move on - by Law -towards his matching vibration and, of course, his Good. So voila! The Steelers know one of their own kind and snatch him up. Like with Like.

The Steelers, as you might know, are heading to the Super Bowl this Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals in Tampa Bay. The best of the best.

In his interview McHugh says, “There is an expectation when you become a Pittsburgh Steeler that you’re going to win,” he said. “And anything less than that is not acceptable. In Detroit it was like you were hoping to win.”

I like this guy. He's actually paying attention to how things feel in the culture of his teams. What he observed tells volumes. In Pittsburg there's the expectation of winning. That's an internal attitude which sees success as "of course". In Detroit, there's the "hope" which has doubt all through it. That's their "internal attitude which is their culture.

The internal attitude = the organization's culture = their vibrational signature which is what the Big Universe is answering. Expect to win = win. Doubt your Good = failure, malaise.

McHughs goes on to say, "It’s a little bit of redemption, a little bit of success in the face of distress; a little bit about remembering that what appears to be the worst thing can turn out to be the best."

“A door closed,” McHugh said, “and a world opened.”

I love this guy! If he's paying attention, he's just learned how it all works. If you study this story, you'll see how the Big Universe works in your Life.

1. Never doubt. Your Good is At Play even in the face of what appears to be the worst thing. Your Good is Always At Play.
2. When that door shuts, if you are maintaining the internal attitude of my Good just showed up, I'm watching for it with conviction - then, truly, the New World of Your Good just opened up.
3. Never, look back. Lot's wife did and turned into a pillar of salt.
4. There's always more Good...

As to the energy of Detroit, which I mentioned above. Detroit is a city that is in dire need of an attitude adjustment. The vibrational signature of Detroit is largely one of lack. Certainly they have had their challenges, and continue to have them. This is all of our challenge, to change our vibrational station within. But if anyone in Detroit is watching this story of McHugh, the answer to changing your town is in this story. You cannot keep looking at what is and not expect to get even more of what is. Somehow you have to find a way of lining up with what you want. McHugh was lined up with what he wanted - Life, success, his Good.

Dan Wetzel of Yahoo Sports goes on to write about McHugh,

McHugh is a blue-collar guy from outside of Cleveland. He knows how fortunate he is to play a single down in the NFL, let alone parts of four seasons with his current salary. He’s hesitant to compare his situation to the estimated 2.6 million Americans who lost their jobs in 2008.

He wasn’t living check to check. He was pursuing a dream.

This paragraph is revealing about our mindset as Americans. First, McHugh is from Cleveland, where I live right now, and I can tell you there is a "downer" going on here. The upside of this is that I'm hoping many of the folks from Cleveland who think they are doomed to a life of struggle, will identify with their hometown lad, who changed his life by believing in his Good. And the other thing - since when was pursing your dream a luxury afforded only to a few? Pursing your dream is everything, especially now. This is America; it is our right to pursue our happiness. It even says so in the Declaration of Independence.

Wouldn't everyone, in Detroit, in Cleveland, in the whole world, have a better, happier, vibrational countenance if you were pursuing your dream rather than working paycheck to paycheck, just for the money? Now there's a concept.

It's all about joy, folks. All of it. Every single bit of it. Pursue the joy, feel happy inside, and watch the doubt and fear dissolve when you're happily following your dream. Money, success, and joy are not mutually exclusive, you know. They go hand in hand.

My sincere thanks and appreciation to Dan Wetzel of Yahoo News for writing such a perceptive article. Study it. It's a living, breathing example of Applied Spirituality and it contains everything you need to know to have a successful life. Period.

Thanks for reading!

What You Can Do: It's All About Character

Hello Everyone,

Not even a week into the Obama presidency, we are on the threshold of a vast open door of possibilities, as yet unrealized and pure potential. As President Obama said in his Inaugual Address:

What is required of us now is a new era of responsibility -- a recognition, on the part of every American, that we have duties to ourselves, our nation and the world, duties that we do not grudgingly accept but rather seize gladly, firm in the knowledge that there is nothing so satisfying to the spirit, so defining of our character than giving our all to a difficult task.

This is the price and the promise of citizenship.

This is the source of our confidence: the knowledge that God calls on us to shape an uncertain destiny.

This is the meaning of our liberty and our creed, why men and women and children of every race and every faith can join in celebration across this magnificent mall. And why a man whose father less than 60 years ago might not have been served at a local restaurant can now stand before you to take a most sacred oath.

So let us mark this day in remembrance of who we are and how far we have traveled.

In the year of America's birth, in the coldest of months, a small band of patriots huddled by dying campfires on the shores of an icy river.

The capital was abandoned. The enemy was advancing. The snow was stained with blood.

At a moment when the outcome of our revolution was most in doubt, the father of our nation ordered these words be read to the people:

"Let it be told to the future world that in the depth of winter, when nothing but hope and virtue could survive, that the city and the country, alarmed at one common danger, came forth to meet it."

This quote is actually by Thomas Paine, as written in his paper, Crisis.

Here is an expansion of this quote:

"Let it be told to the future world, that in the depth of winter, when nothing but hope and virtue could survive, that the city and the country, alarmed at one common danger, came forth to meet and to repulse it. Say not that thousands are gone, turn out your tens of thousands; throw not the burden of the day upon Providence, but "show your faith by your works," that God may bless you. It matters not where you live, or what rank of life you hold, the evil or the blessing will reach you all. The far and the near, the home counties and the back, the rich and the poor, will suffer or rejoice alike. The heart that feels not now is dead; the blood of his children will curse his cowardice, who shrinks back at a time when a little might have saved the whole, and made them happy. I love the man that can smile in trouble, that can gather strength from distress, and grow brave by reflection. 'Tis the business of little minds to shrink; but he whose heart is firm, and whose conscience approves his conduct, will pursue his principles unto death
."

Only character provides these qualities to a human mind. Character, dear reader, is all about reconnecting with your Godchip, from whence all Good Character abides.

The point is that Paine and Obama, in recalling his words, points to the individual as the solution. There is only so much government can or should do, as we have chosen a democracy, which means everyone participates and has a duty.
It is first well to note, that the contribution of individuals of weak character is what has led us to this point in history. What is required now, are contributions from individuals of Good Character.
What, then, can the average citizen due to accomplish the changes that are required in order to move America forward and upward? There is one thing, and only one thing for you to do:

You can grow your consciousness, expanding yourself into a greater and better version of yourSelf.

How is this accomplished? How does one go about expanding their individual consciousness?

This is done first by intention and desire. You must, of course, desire to become a better, improved version of yourSelf; only then, are you offering your Best Self in all that you do.
Applied Spirituality is entirely about growing your human consciousness and allowing it to blend with your Godchip. Your Godchip is absolute freedom, joy and creativity. It awaits your willing and conscious desire to return to It, and use It (apply It) in your everyday thoughts, actions and creations.

It matters not one whit whether you are garbage collector, mother, student, entrepreneur, or corporate employee. What you bring to each moment is solely your duty and obligation over which you are absolutely sovereign. This is where you critically matter, in the single moment to moment to moment of your life. The Quality of You must be the best it can be, because that is the Quality of what you are contributing in that moment. It cannot be any more, unless you choose to become your Best Self.

Your efforts to be the Best Self that you can be are never in vain, for what is being asked of each of us as American Citizens, is what we actually came here to do: Remember Who We Really Are.

Hidden within your personal Godchip is everything that you Are: creative, optimistic, delightful powerful, Loving Being, able to direct and manifest the full measure of your desires. Therein lies the Truth of Being, how the Universe works and your powerful place in it.

Hidden with your personal Godchip is everything you require to build the muscles of your human character into a masterful Godperson on Earth.

Hidden with your personal Godchip is the Whole of You, which has no issue of self-esteem, but is simply pure Love and Confidence and Beauty.

The decision to grow your consciousness is your duty, certainly. But more, it was something you understood and knew you could accomplish before you even incarnated. You knew you could, and would awaken and Remember Who You Really Are. For in this one act, you would enjoy this journey on Earth immensely and realize the fulfillment of your intentions and desires.

Applied Spirituality is the phrase I use for reconnection with yourSelf, your Godchip; blending It with your human mind and in so doing, awaken from the human-mind slumber becoming the magnificent being that you are. This is the Best Self that you can bring to the worldly table.

This is the one thing and everything that you can do.

Cleaning Up Your Vibrational Signature Part 2: Change the Channel

Hello Everyone,

Wow, what a week, eh? I FEEL GOOD!

This President is the epitome of focus, clarity, and alignment with Self. Study this man, he's worth studying.

Today I want to continue with methods and techniques for cleaning up your emotional signature: your vibrational content.

1. Identify WHEN something doesn't feel Good. Is it when you are saying something, or listening or seeing or just thinking. Once you acknowledge that something isn't right, stop. Ask yourself, exactly what isn't right here? What is the information for me? Where is my thinking, focus, speech, action NOT in alignment with Who I Really Am?

Ever hear yourself telling the same old story? Every wish you'd change the channel? That would be it. Stop telling the same old tired stories about yourself. If you're sick of hearing them, I can promise you others are, too. Have you ever said about someone else, "Does he/she even listen to what he/she is saying?" That comment is You telling you to shut up, already.

2. Determine for yourself what your congruent (with yourSELF) story would be, whether or not it is factually true or not. For example: your old line when someone says, "How are you?" - You say, "I'm ok." "I'm gettin' by." Or you spout off some clever but vibrationally lifeless comment.

Now your new line is something congruent with Who You Really Are: "I'm happy; or I'm focused or I'm delighted or I'm jazzed or I'm eager or I'm excited. Now you can elaborate on that with a short follow up. I'm happy, because I feel really good today. I'm focused; I'm creating a new ....; I'm delighted; my dog actually sat up today on command. We've been going to school. I'm jazzed; I got a part in the town play. I'm eager; I'm looking forward to trying a new recipe for dinner tonight. I'm excited; I thought of a way to add html to my website.

Can you feel the difference? You are looking for Real to respond Really. You are out of your human mind hypnotic state and into aware, alert and authentic communication from Self. Take a moment to listen to James Brown and feel GOOD.

Now, apply this to each and every moment of your day. Find the feeling; if it ain't good, find a Good one and speak that! Change the channel!!!!

Thanks for reading!

New Year 2009 - Return to New Beginnings

Hello Everyone and Happy New Year to You!

I notice my last post was December 16. This is because the weeks have been wholly absorbed in relocating to Ohio, place of my birth just 30 miles away.

For 35 years I have been away. Now I return. The Chinese I Ching even has a hexagram for this earthly movement. It is called Return.

I left San Diego the day after Christmas and got as far as Phoenix. My leaving was full and complete. My friends and neighbors held a wonderful farewell party for me. I was amazed and humbled by the turn out and the profound realization of how much I am loved and supported in my earthly journey.

I had such great, good fortune in finding the perfect tenant for my home, Ranchito Luna Azul (the Little Blue Moon Ranch) in Descanso. Every detail fell into place perfectly until finally there was nothing more for me to do but leave. I walked my little ranch and thanked it for supporting me in these past 8 years. This land loved me and taught me so much; and my friends, family and especially my challengers and challenges all served to help me become more of Who I Really Am.

I cannot say adequately with words how full my heart is with gratitude, appreciation, and love for every step, every person, every moment all of which have brought me to Return.

I grew up here in Ohio and Pennsylvania. I ran wild in these woods and observed the seasons of the year as they passed outside my school bus window. Within I always understood the seasons, the passage of time, and most importantly, my place within it all. Everything has its time; everything has its season. Check out Ecclesiastes 3.

As I drove across our country, I was filled with awe and expectancy savoring the landscape as it passed by mile after mile. We have so much here in America. From Arizona to Oklahoma City are vast hundreds of thousands of miles of beautiful open lands. I only saw but a very few windmills at work. Somewhere in Missouri I saw maple trees with buckets strapped to them, ready to receive the running sap in the spring for maple syrup. And throughout large stretches, there is the heartland, the farmlands where we have good earth and a place to grow our food.

This land is fecund; and we its people are fecund.

fe
·cund
adj.
1. Capable of producing offspring or vegetation; fruitful.
2. Marked by intellectual productivity. See Synonyms at fertile.

[From the Middle English, from Old French fecond, from Latin fcundus: 1. abundant
2. fertile, fruitful 3. imaginative 4. productive (of offspring)].

I know that the news occupies a large portion of your thoughts and beliefs. However, what I write about today is ancient knowledge, ageless and timeless. These ideas and beliefs you already Know deep within your own Godchip: that there is a season for everything.

Currently in the worldscape we are witnessing a time for tearing down. This must happen before the new can come into place. There is a time for a vacancy, a void, where the germination of new thoughts, ideas and inspirations can become existent. There is a time for rest, gathering our strength and nourishing our ideas for the new movements forward. And there is a time for Return; where we finally Return to Who We Really Are and our creations are fecund with Life and Light, once again. We are, America, Returning to our Oneness as a nation, but first individually each and every one of us.

This 2009 - a most blessed and fertile time of infinite possibilities to apply your spirit and create anything Good anew.

Christ Is A Consciousnes

Good Morning Everyone,

Recently I've been reading a really great book written by Depak Chopra, one of my heroes in life.
It's called, The Third Jesus, The Christ We Cannot Ignore. Bless him, for he has the eloquence and perspicacity to write the things I've espoused since I was a young girl.

Evidently Chopra, who was raised in India, was schooled in the Catholic Church by missionaries. He is open-minded and has the vantage point of blending different schools of thought: Buddhist teachings with ancient Ayurvedic Medicine and Christianity with Western Medicine. His mind looks for the Truth, which is usually found in the commonalities.

I've had the privilege of meeting Chopra twice, although I doubt he would remember me. But the first time was just after I had written my first book. I had written on my "knowing". I had no evidence that what I knew to be True was fact. In listening to the lecture, he began putting the science beneath my "knowing". I remember sitting in the audience with tears streaming down my face. Thank you, I thought. For the Western World is all about science and facts, dismissing "knowing" as heresy and airy fairy. This one man has done more for bridging the nonphysical world and the physical world as well as the spiritual world the religious world.

In his most recent book he takes the four gospels and isolates the words that are directly attributed to Jesus and talks about them in terms of not literal, but in higher consciousness.

As I was listening to the book, the same phenomenon occurred with me, the tears were streaming down my little cheeks. I have always felt Jesus as a guide, not a savior. I have always thought of him as sort of a "big brother". The kind that is infinitely compassionate and willing to take his little sister on his journey, or show her the Way.

In the 1990's I was doing a type of chiropractic called Network, created by Donny Epstein. It is a very esoteric type of work, encouraging the Life Force to move up through the spine and as It does, it reveals the beliefs and behavior patterns that block the Truth. During many of those "clear outs" as they are called, this figure, Jesus would come to me and assist in my clearings. He was always jovial and easy natured, laughing quickly and cajoling me in my seriousness. Once we were swinging from swings hung on the stars. I remember him pointing to this giant patch of light on Earth. "See there," he smiled at me, "that's your life." This is the way I have felt about Jesus. He has and does come to me in other ways, as well. To help me build Trust in the Universe, he has had me mentally stand on the brink of the Grand Canyon, backwards. He walks out into the air and tells me to fall backwards. This little exercise took about 6 months before I could do it mentally. When I had achieved that, he moved out from behind me, standing now in front of me, and told me to fall backwards again, into the arms of All That Is, or God. That one took another 6 months, until I could realize that I am totally loved and supported without Him intervening in any way.

I have been very concerned about Christianity. At one point in my studies in the 1990's I undertook reading European History in order to find out what went wrong. It's a dismal account of the history of the church and the men that would use religion as a means of power. I grew up in the Eastern Orthodox Church, "the original church", but missed all the human-mind dogma as the sermons and scriptures were recited in Serbian. This, I now realize, was the ultimate blessing.

When I began my personal investigation into my own spirituality, I "knew" it was about Love.
I was so confused about the human version that I saw demonstrated around me, vs. my own knowing. When I wanted to get married, my priest could not marry us because my husband-to-be was not Orthodox, and the Bishop would not give his consent. At 19 years old I challenged the priest, "Who do you work for? The Bishop or God?" Always I've had this deep, profound understanding that religion was not God; and it is certainly not spirituality.

This is the time. It is now. All things that are not grounded in Truth will wash away as they were built on sand. Things grounded in Universal Truth, or God, will stand. Jesus was not a Christian. Jesus was a man, who in his lifetime, awakened to his true identity and achieved the Christed consciousness. This is what he asked us to do then, and is ready, willing and able to help us do now, individually. This is not a group activity, it is personal, intimate, and uniquely yours.

Applied Spirituality is the term I have coined to point the way for the individual to do that personal, intimate journey back into Oneness for him or her self. Like Jesus, I can only be a guide, I am not the map; nor is Jesus.

At the core of each of us is that Godchip, that Godchip is in the Field of Consciousness - the highest Field of Consciousness. We contact that, and It guides our way perfectly. This is applied spirituality, living the Christed Consciousness in the physical body like Jesus did, and Buddha and Krishna and others. You are perfectly wired for this journey in consciousness.

Depak refers to the Gnostic Gospels in his book. I'm going to read those.

The Democratic National Convention: All the Right Things for All the Right Reasons

Hello Everyone,

Wow, talk about an inspirational week! I was simply captivated by the Democratic National Convention. Not by the words, but by the energy. Hopeful, positive, uplifting and determined.
Yeah! Doing and saying all the right things; for all the right reasons - it feels Good.

By the way, I was able to watch it on my laptop! After downloading a few things, I watched right from the DNCC site. This, as you know, because I don't have commercial television access.

I wrote somethings down while I was listening:
Jesse Jackson, Jr. said something cool, "What Unites us is greater that what divides us." Well said, Jesse! And that thing that unites us is...our Godchip. Same for each of us, and in equal measure.
Here. here.

"We are all called to a better country." Ted Kennedy. We certainly are. We deserve a better country, and we can make it happen, to be sure

"The Dream Lives On." Ted Kennedy. It's the dream we all dreamed before we came in, the dream of knowing the abundance we already live in, remembering Who We Really Are right here, right now, to choose again what is next and create in Love.

Claire McCaskill, "Anyone can accomplish anything!" Of course. We are God having a physical experience. Once we learn to focus that Source energy with persistent focus, we got it!

Michelle Obama, "We listened to our hopes instead of our fears; we started dreaming, instead of doubting." Like Rip Van Winkle, John and Jane Does across America are awakening from their slumber. The distant strains of a very familiar tune are stirring deep within. "Yes, I AM."

Barack Obama says with "hard work and sacrifice" we can do anything. Almost, Barack, try this one on:

with our consistent and persistent focus of our individual and collective Source Energy we can create the Dream into our physical Reality: heaven right here, on Earth.

By Jove, I think we're starting to get IT! We're beginning to apply our Spirits - consciously!

Thanks for reading! (I'm an Independent, by the way - and former Republican)

Frank Capra Is Smiling

Hello Everyone,

For forty years now we have been on a journey, a spiritual, consciousness raising journey, here in
America. For forty years we have individually and collectively sought to bring to main-stream consciousness the power of the individual as commonly accepted, acknowledged, and realized thought.

Frank Capra posed this idea in his films for years. He called it the "human spirit". He called on every John and Jane Doe, as those who has built the pyramids and done the lRight now let me direct you to view Mr. Smith Goes to Washington and Meet John Doe.

Until the common man/woman understands and realizes his/her own power, importance, and value, nothing changes. But the signs are there, now, that this is indeed happening. Amen.

I was watching the DNC Convention on Monday evening and was struck by how different this convention is from any I've ever seen before. Ordinary people are on stage talking about the nominee, Barack Obama. The speeches are less "structured" and more Real. The music is our music, the message: you matter, your voice counts. Change must start from the ground up, not from the top down, as in previous decades.

This issue is not about conservatives or liberals, democrats or republicans, but rather is reflecting the rising consciousness of individuals, that they are, and always have been, the masters of their fate and captains of their souls. (William Henley, Invictus).

Slowly, inch by inch, one by one, in one way or another, each individual is becoming aware of the innate power of himself. This Innate is our individual Godchip, our true Self. But until each individual has started to awaken to it, listen to it, and realize their Oneness with It, nothing changes.

I am an independent, because I hold the space of the best of both ideologies. When I hear the Democrats talk about the "downtrodden" and "disenfranchised", I cringe, because this is never True of any individual. This only applies when one believes they are separated from Source and powerless. The lie of all lies from which we are awakening. I cringe when I see the Republicans turn a blind eye and a deaf ear to the common people and what they want and think is important. But the beautiful part of all of this is that the same Godchip that lives and enlivens and quickens me, enlivens and quickens everyone.

We are on a new path, whether or not it is reflected in the outcome of this election or not, because the human Spirit has been raised up in our consciousness. We are beginning to actually believe that we are God, that we are powerful, that indeed, we are Good. When we do this, we are applying our spirituality. The prodigals are coming home!

We Can Solve It!

Hello Everyone,

Today a friend sent me a speech by Al Gore which is below, so you can listen to it. My comments are confined to the concept that we can solve anything we put our minds to. Period. While I understand the necessity of addressing the negative, let's keep it in perspective. The "negative" that we perceive as such is simply the platform from which we can be very clear about what it is that WE NOW WANT.

Energy independence is certainly in the top three of what we now want, to be sure. And I am certain that we want clean, cheap energy as well, that is available to everyone like the air is. These things are within our grasp if we STOP FOCUSING ON THE PROBLEM AND REFOCUS ON THE SOLUTIONS.

Yesterday I watched a marvelous movie, In the Shadow of the Moon, a Ron Howard film about how America put a man on the moon. We were inspired to reach beyond our grasp by John Kennedy. When Kennedy announced that he was calling on American for a "new enterprise" we did not have the technology at hand. We had to reach into the infinite, within ourSelves, and create the solutions along the way to Apollo 11's successful flight.

Indeed we are at a place in America where a "new enterprise" is needed. Many in fact, but it is by blessed way of the powerful negative that we have arrived at these new conclusions.

Each of us can contribute to this new enterprise by envisioning what it is we want and by ceasing immediately from the constant dwelling on what is wrong. Write to your chief news media and tell them you want to hear what is going right. Tell them you want in headline news, the good progress and cooperations that are happening in key areas. Tell them you will turn them off, if they persist in beating the over tired drums of doom and gloom.

We get what we are focused upon. Imagine if we were told daily briefings on the progress of hydrogen fuels, solar and even new promising ideas such as sound. Can you imagine what new ideas that might spark in yourself? Imagine how much more uplifting it would be to go to bed at night with a new promising idea in your head?

America, you have to speak up. Now is the time. Stop settling for inferior, sleazy, low quality in anything and everything. Turn off the mind-numbing stuff and turn on the exciting, inspiring, and motivational things that enliven you, which enlivens us as a nation.

Write your senators and representatives. Tell them you want to hear of non-partisan progress in energy, the economy, the quality of our food, and whatever else you wish to see changed. And identify clearly the change you would like to see. Add not only your voice and vote, but add your energy to it by seeing it as a completed creation of good for everyone.

We alone get to choose what we think about. Choose carefully what you wish to see. Nurture that like you would a new baby. Feed it love, feel its joy, adore the people who are contributing and appreciate every single step of the way until its birth into reality.

I applaud Al Gore for taking the lead along with T. Boone Pickens in spearheading creative and clean solutions for America. Let's keep it positive. Let's keep it creative. Let's keep it non-partisan. I call on America for this great new enterprise - recreating America anew.

Here's the video of Al Gore's speech followed by Boone Pickens speech.

Focus

Hello Everyone,

Today I want to continue my discussion on focus. When you consider what you are doing when you actively bring to bear your attention to something, you are really focusing the energy of your spirit, that Godchip, the energy that creates universes on something here in the physical.

In this world we have free will. This is to say that our ultimate freedom is that we get to choose upon what we will bring this Source energy to bear. If you stop just a moment and consider, we can really only focus on one thing at a time, pretty much. All talk about multi-tasking to the contrary. When we multi task, we are diluting the power of that focused energy.

I can speak to this with great authority, as I am sure almost every other westernized human can as well. We have come to such a place in our human thinking, that it is "uncool" to not be busier than a one-armed paperhanger. So let me be the first to say that this is insanity. But what this idea of multi-tasking really speaks to is our mistrust of Source and our resulting need to control everything around us, exterior to us. This is a great lie of human thinking.

We are a giant spirit. If you will imagine an iceberg sitting in the ocean. Some 96% or more of it is unseen, underwater. If you will now imagine turning that iceberg upside down. In this view the "tip" of the iceberg at the bottom is now you, walking around on planet earth, the 4% that's visible. The rest of "YOU" is your Godchip connected to the infinite. Everything you need to know is accessible to you. Countless times throughout the day, you are nudged to do something, stop, go, breathe, yawn, cough, hiccup, sigh, turn left, etc. This is the "YOU" of you guiding you, intuitively. I often think that when we get to the other side and look back on the road map of the life we've just lived, we'll see a billion places where we "missed" disaster, because we were always being guided towards our Good. I also think we'll see a lot of diseases that we contracted and healed, never knowing that we had ever been sick. But I don't want to stray from the topic of focus here.

We think (humanly) that we have to stay focused on everything or it will all go to hell in a handbasket, so we don't focus our full attention on those things that really matter to us: play time with the kids, a conversation with a friend, the book you want to write, the new business you want to start. Everything gets mediocre attention, therefore everything gets mediocre results.

We focus every time we have a thought. Have you ever considered that when you're thinking about something, you're not thinking about anything else? Just consider that for a second so that you realize the truth of that statement. If I'm blathering on about politics, I'm not focusing my Source energy on my book, but rather on the topic of politics. So now, what I am doing is building that body of thought form, not my own. I have essentially become part and parcel of the problem, if I am complaining about the problem. I am helping to make that body of thought bigger and stronger. Now I chose to speak about that topic with my buddy in a negative way. Not only have I helped make the problem "bigger" by adding my Creative Energy to that thought form, but worse, I have not done one thing to create what I love.

In our free will we can choose anything to create. Anything. Source is indifferent. You want to create more crap, focus on crap. Now you're vibrational countenance is equal to crap making, and you get more of it. It gets bigger and bigger, until it manifests in your own experience. It doesn't matter, the Law of Attraction works whether you're understanding the power of your focus, or not. Turning your attention to anything, adds "matter" to it and brings it closer to your own experience.

To me, the sad part of this is that what you truly want to create is left untouched, undone, unfinished.

The distractions in this world are legion, to be sure. Some are pleasing to you, which can be beneficial and fun, some are not and only serve to drag you down in your vibration. The trick is to be very, very selective of where you CONSCIOUSLY CHOOSE to focus your Energy. If you truly understand that this is the same Energy that creates worlds, you start to understand that it is like aiming a nuclear device at something. It's power, potent and certain that you will create what you are "aiming" at.

There is an elegance in Source Energy. I like to think of it as Just In Time. It is based on your vibrational countenance that contains the blueprint of you on earth and your intentions for this adventure here. Say for example you have a deep intention for fun, safety, joy, uplifting others, good health, etc. You can and should certainly get consciously clear about what you intend for your life. Your intention is powerful, like the scope on a rife. What you intend is what you are aiming at. With these intentions buried in your vibrational countenance, Law of Attraction will match. You intend to pay your bills on time; you will receive an internal "nudge" or "prompt" in
just enough time to do so; perhaps a friend will say, "I've gotta pay bills today." and you are reminded. Every aspect of you is recorded and being answered by YOU. What you have to do is learn to trust that, and relax in IT.

Once done, now you can chill out and place your full focus on that book, that new business and bring the full power of YOU to bear on that project. You will be astounded as the speed and clarity with which you accomplish what you desire, the people that come "out of nowhere" to assist, the "perfect" connection or stepping stone.

This is an elegant Universe and you are an integral part of it. You can experience that elegance in your own life if you allow It. Every tiny vibration of you is recorded and noted and being answered. And you direct it all by the power of your free will to CONSCIOUSLY CHOOSE what you WILL focus your Source Energy upon.

So, where are we in all this? One thing at a time. My Dad always taught me, "How do you eat an elephant?" he asks me. My answer is always the same, "One bite at a time." And that my friends is the wisest thing anyone could teach anyone. The power of clear, undivided focus one subject at a time.

And I'll throw this added one in as a corollary to the elephant. When I would be upset by someone or something as a child and complain to my Gram, she would say, "Pay no mind."
Translation: don't focus on it.

Lucky girl, me to have such wise beings guiding me in my youth.

Play with it, and prove to yourself. Focus, shift, refocus, shift. And never, ever, focus on anything that doesn't feel good to you. EVER. I know this may not sound politically or socially correct, but what the hay, it's your LIFE. You have the choice and free will. If it doesn't feel good to you, well then, get out of the bank. It's not. If it feels good to YOU, then it is.

Think of yourself as a powerful hose of Source Energy and whatever you aim that hose at is going to happen. This is Applied Spirituality.

Flow: Appling Your Spirit Right Here Right Now

Good Day Everyone!

Today I want to talk about Flow: Flow is the mental state of operation in which the person is fully immersed in what he or she is by a feeling of energized focus, full involvement, and success in the process of the activity. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flow_(psychology)

This concept was first proposed by Mihály Csíkszentmihályi in his seminal work: (1990) Flow: The Psychology of Optimal Experience'. New York: Harper and Row. ISBN 0-06-092043-2.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mih%C3%A1ly_Cs%C3%ADkszentmih%C3%A1lyi

This work described as positive psychology or flow comes the closest in describing the optimal state of applied spirituality.

Csíkszentmihályi identifies the following as accompanying an experience of flow:

  1. Clear goals (expectations and rules are discernible and goals are attainable and align appropriately with one's skill set and abilities).
  2. Concentrating and focusing, a high degree of concentration on a limited field of attention (a person engaged in the activity will have the opportunity to focus and to delve deeply into it).
  3. A loss of the feeling of self-consciousness, the merging of action and awareness.
  4. Distorted sense of time, one's subjective experience of time is altered.
  5. Direct and immediate feedback (successes and failures in the course of the activity are apparent, so that behavior can be adjusted as needed).
  6. Balance between ability level and challenge (the activity is neither too easy nor too difficult).
  7. A sense of personal control over the situation or activity.
  8. The activity is intrinsically rewarding, so there is an effortlessness of action.
  9. People become absorbed in their activity, and focus of awareness is narrowed down to the activity itself, action awareness merging[2].

Not all are needed for flow to be experienced.

Components of Applied Spirituality:

1. Clarity: what is desired and sought (asked for) is clear. Mind is clear.

2. Laser focus and attention: Peeling potatoes or writing a novel, the full SElf is brought to bear the the object of focus.

3. No awareness of self: in a sense there is no boundary between the object and focus-er.

4. Direct and immediate feedback between self and Self - it FEELS

5. effortlessness of action - easy, with ease,

6. Distorted sense of time: time flies by or seems to slow

7. intrinsically rewarding: you're doing what you love, it feels good, right and correct.

8. Internal state of willingness, allowing, open....receptive within and then transferred to application externally

9. Deliberate, intentional (the individual is sovereign) choice of point of focus.

10. self Mastery, then is using the free will to choose to allow Self to flow through the mechanism of mind and body to create at will.

More to come....

High Self Esteem: Remembering Who You Really Are

Good Day Everyone,

This week the theme seemed to come up repeatedly as "self esteem" or "self value" or "self appreciation" or "self worth".

Any of these terms ring true for you?

The first time it came up was in a class that I was taking via teleconference. A lady was sharing that she was "selfish" and confessing that as if it were a horrible thing. A gentlemen chimed in that he, too, was a "selfish prick". Whooa! Wait a minute! Wait just one minute!

When and where did "selfish" get such a rap? I'm thinking it has to do with religion and wanting to get the masses to do what was expected. So, therefore, let's give "selfish" a really bad moral rap, then they'll be more pliable if they're in fear of their mortal souls. Arg!

I like to take words apart and find a true meaning in them. If I do this with the word "selfish", I come up with self and fish. Fishing for self, and morphing that into fishing for Self. Now I know what the word really means and where it focuses me internally: searching within for the Me of me - my own Godchip. My True Voice. My True Godself.

Well, we wouldn't want those masses finding out how powerful they really are, so no wonder they made the word selfish "bad". A virtual sin. I'd best leave anymore remarks about that and move on right here.

One of the really interesting benefits of being "selfish", is that when you are following that internal path, you learn what makes you tick, what makes you feel good, what blows your skirt up, what makes you joyful, and fulfilled. These emotional tracers of feeling good are all street signs on the path of selfish - fishing for and finding your True Self. These thing make you happy, by Jove! These are the things that connect you to Source and show you that you can make yourself happy.

Now when you're feeling good, and filling up your own basket with joyous events, situations, activities and focus points, guess what happens? Your cup runneth over. You are so full of Source (joy, love, energy, creation itself) that it flows out of you in every thought, word and deed. Then and only then are you a blessing to others and effortlessly "give" from your overflowing cup.

When you are overflowing your cup of love and blessings (energy) to everyone and everything around you: your co workers, your family, your friends, the book you're writing, the project you are focused on - you are flowing It - Source Itslef right smack into your creations, which benefit and bless over and over again. In that moment when you can see and realize that by You being You, doing what makes you tick blesses people, there is the real value of You. A Value Beyond Measure - you being fully Who You Are, which is what you love to be - uniquely YOU. This is applied spirituality in action.

When you feel this "Zone", you feel your self esteem, self worth, self value, and self love and self-appreciation. When you know Who You Really Are, there is only Self Esteem. For how could it be otherwise?

The hallmark of a spiritual journey is fraught with irony and paradox because it is mirroring the 180 polarity of human mind and Godmind. So, being selfish (finding your True Self) is the path to Self Esteem - your Godchip, usually in juxtaposition to the conditioned human mind. Who would have thought?

Thus the path to Self development is following your heart, following the daily moment to moment decisions that feel good to You, being with the folks that feel right to you, participating in the activities that feel enlivening to You, is the way you find and connect, then blend with your True Self and let It rip! When you let IT rip, you feel You flooding through you, creating your dreams, words, creations. When you're feeling You flowing through you, there is only Self Love.

A Light House: Being Who You ARE

Good Morning Everyone,

Last night and this morning I have been following the story of Scott McClellan's book,
What Happened: Inside the Bush White House and Washington's Culture of Deception being released and the subsequent furor. I find it very interesting and enlightening.

This topic of "deception" is one that inherently implies a victim and a perpetrator, which is the fundamental lie.
There are no victims and no perpetrators, ever. Each of us is free to interpret information for ourselves. As someone who never bought into the "logic" of going to war in Iraq, I was stumped why any one could. I mean 2 + 2 DID NOT equal 5. President Bush never made the case for me. But, how is it that he did for so many?

If you think of yourself, your
beingness as a light house. You stand fixed on shore, firmly grounded in Who You Are. You are a unique piece of Source energy on planet earth having your own unique experience and outflowing that same Source energy as Who You Are: your ideas, your intentions, your thoughts, your expressions, your creations, your ideas, your solutions.

Have you ever seen a light house uproot itself and run willy
nilly along the shore in order to get the attention of the ships at sea? Of course not. It stands firm and shines it light steadily so that the ships can navigate towards the light, if they choose.

When a storm comes or high winds, do you see a light house move its position? Of course not. The winds blow over it and around it, but it stands firmly on its ground. So it ought to be with each of us. Influence is all around us. Everywhere people are attempting to influence us to their position in order to gain gravitas, weight and momentum to their cause. We can be influenced a million times a day, if we allow it - if we so choose.

But to understand if we desire to accept the influence, we first have to know Who We Are and where we stand.
That, dear people, is our unique sacred ground, and important to hold firm that ground no matter what. When the winds of change begin blowing, we get to choose if it is an appropriate shift for us to make.

If we begin to understand that everything is energetic here on planet earth, then we will begin to understand influence, ideas and truth from fiction. But nobody perpetrates a fraud on anyone else. We always KNOW the truth of something when we are standing firmly in Who We Are - Source.

When we are firmly grounded in Source, we know well being. We know truth, because we can feel it. When it is not the truth, we feel that too - in our gut something is not right. That is how we know everything. You don't have to understand it intellectually to know the truth. The mind does not have to be satisfied with logic and reason to know the truth. The truth is registered in your gut. But what we do as a culture is we let logic and reason (thoughts of human construct) influence and sway, and ultimately override our Knowing.

Here is where we each individually must learn to reverse what we've learned on planet earth from the other humans. The thoughts of human mind are based in fear; the feeling in the gut is Source (your spirit) and your wisdom and knowing. You can choose to let the mind talk you out of your knowing, but how's that working out for us?
Not well.

Listen with your heart, feel it in your gut. That's the Light House standing firm and that's applied spirituality. Weigh in there first and don't let your mind or any one
else talk you off your sacred ground.

Thanks for reading!

Common Sense: What IS THAT?

Good Morning Everyone,

The more I observe the world, the more I am given to think that if one could teach "Common Sense", you could make a fortune. It seems to be the single thing lacking in almost every area you look.

For years I have had my California State Real Estate License and used it to sell mortgage loans. I began in the mid 1980's selling mortgages and learned from a wonderful older couple, Bob and Lucille Latta.

In those days we had no computers or fax, so loans were hand done, literally. We filled out the 1003 by hand, calculated the disclosure statements by hand, etc. We also learned that the 20% down which was customary was the lender's required equity position in case of default. In other words, generally speaking it cost a lender that 20% to foreclose, re-market and eventually get that property off its books. That was mortgage lending 101.

In those days we did a lot of FHA loans, which are always self-insured, for people with sketchy credit or no credit. FHA loans were a huge pain in the neck because the appraisals always called for some sort of repair to the asset. Imagine that. The lender required a "healthy" asset against its loan. But the success of the FHA program is its test of time. Every borrower paid for his own mortgage insurance against default and the asset was solid. Good, common sense lending. In the conventional market, 20% down insured a healthy bank position in a loan. Good common sense lending.

Right now we're experiencing a huge mortgage lending debacle, as the direct result of departure from Common Sense.

When I began to notice the changes in programs offered by the mortgage lenders about 3 years ago, I had the sense of deja vu to the Savings and Loan debacle of the late 1980's when the Resolution Trust had to bail out the S & L's.

Why would a lender even offer a program of 100% plus financing to anyone let alone folks with marginal credit? A departure for sure, from Good Common Sense. There were lots of explanations for this: that the price of housing was too high for people to afford it, so they had to offer instruments to compensate. But the truth of the matter was that the banks were greedy and decided to speculate in the real estate market much like the junk bonds of the mid 1980's. And it seems in the world of the human mind, greed trumps Common Sense every time.

Common Sense is that which we all have, innately. We are born with it. We know what feels right and good, and what feels iffy and risky. We know by how it feels to us. However in this world we are conditioned by the edicts of "human thinking" which is always lackful. The human mind is conditioned in fear of not enough: not enough money, not enough time, not enough love, not enough health, not enough of the good stuff. So human mind will rationalize right over the top of the whispers of Good Common Sense.

Recently a friend of mind caught up in attempting to buy a house right now because she could cash in on the low prices, made 4 offers on 4 different houses over the course of a month. None of them did she love. But her human mind kept telling her that she had to buy something right now. Eventually someone accepted her offer, which she received with a huge feeling of fear and regret. But her human mind plodded on and told her all the rational reasons why she should complete the sale. She moved in ahead of the closing only to discover that there were significant items wrong with the property and she really didn't like it at all. You might think she backed out at this point? Nope. She was in such fear of missing an investment opportunity that she went through with it. Just before the close she ended up with double pneumonia.

I tell you this story because it is a classic case of going against your Good Common Sense - your Godchip - whispering to you to follow It. It only feels Good. When you constantly go against your Godchip's direction, you move counter to your Good and it feels bad. And done continually, moving against your good, you end up sick and find yourself in situations you don't like.

So now the lenders find themselves in a financial situation they don't like. Many borrowers find themselves in situations they don't like. And borrowers and lenders alike had full benefit of their own Internal Guidance Systems - their Good Common Sense - to have avoided this altogether.
There are no victims here.

So let's begin to resurrect an old fashioned, inborn gift that we all came in with and still have benefit of counsel. Consult your Common Sense - the wisdom offered up from your Godchip which only has your best interests and joy at heart.

thanks for reading!

Focus: Applied Spirit

James 2:24 (King James Version)

24Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.

Good Day Everyone,

Well, the tax man has cometh and gone! Whew. Glad that's passed and onto "onwards and upwards". Which brings me to my topic for today. Applied Focus.

As most of you know, I am NOT a Biblical Scholar. I don't think I've ever read it all the way though. But often times a passage comes to me unbidden, as I'm "asking" a question internally. So I love to look them up and see what instructions are there for this earthly walk.

My knowing is that this life here on earth is a very practical walk, and that my spirit loves the opportunity to be here and have a body! It's the practical mastery of how we get things done and create exactly what we want that occupies a lot of my focus. The "how" of it.

Lately as I am learning a new skill set for my career (technology) and marketing, I have found myself overwhelmed with the amount of new information and the time to do everything I need and want to get done.

Several options have been offered. One mentor supplied a "tracker" all beautifully created on an excel spreadsheet so that I can put in the 5 daily tasks to get done and the 5 daily habits that I want to encourage. At the end of the day I get to score myself and see if I've gotten it done, and then worse, on time.

It's an interesting tool to see where one tends to wiggle - or play. I for example do NOT like to be nailed into a specific time to get a thing done, but prefer to have my 12 hours to move freely from task to task. I prefer a more "organic" movement to my day. This is something of another experiment. Because I don't believe it matters how you organize it, what really counts is can I bring the fullness of my "pure, positive focus" to bear on my task at that moment in time.

In James2 2:24 we are told that faith without works is dead. I find a much broader meaning in this phrase as instructions to us on how to apply our spirit to our daily life no matter what the focus we have chosen.

So we begin with a desire to do something, create something anew. This I have. I check the first box on the list.

Secondly we then have to believe that this can be done, despite the facts that we perhaps don't have the requisite skills at the moment, need people or things that we can't possibly know at the moment or how they might arrive, and perhaps even, we need even the energy to get this thing done or even begin it. So fortunately all we have to do at this point is muster up the faith. A belief in things unseen. I check that box too.

For me this step sounds like "I know my good is at play. I know that I create the whole of my own reality. I know I have asked; and It is given." This is the platform for a new creation. The belief that I can and that I am supported by all creation. It is the way it works. I check the next box.

The next step in this creative masterpiece is the acquisition of the necessary skills to "do" what it is I have set forth. With the faith and belief that I can, that all I need will be placed perfectly in my path as I require it, I then, begin the necessary doing. I learn. I practice. I physically commence doing the certain things that are the logical next steps to creating what it is I want. I use my rational thinking mind to discern the steps. I check the next box.

Learning and doing are where we apply the focus.

Let's talk a bit about focus for just a minute. Focus is a really great word, because it almost sounds like what it means.

fo·cus [ fṓkəss ]
noun (plural fo·cus·es or fo·ci [ fṓ s ])

Definition:

1. main emphasis: concentrated effort or attention on a particular thing
The committee's focus must be on finding solutions to the problem.

2. (plural fo·cus·es) area of concern: an area of concern, responsibility, or investigation
an inquiry with a narrow focus

3. concentrated quality: a concentrated and unified quality
to bring focus to the problem

http://encarta.msn.com/dictionary_1861612620/focus.html

So, focus is concentrated effort and attention with a unified quality. This is where I have all my powers right here right now. This is where, when I use my free will (decide to, discipline myself to, direct my focus at my insistence for me) to pay attention to this certain task at my hand with the full, pure positive undivided focus of my energy - my Spirit. The energy of my focus that runs through me is the same energy that creates worlds.

So in my now moment I have chosen by my free will to apply my Energy, and to focus it. I check the next box.

How I do this matters as well. I can be trying to multi task, in which case I will dissipate my focused energy or I can bring my full, undivided attention to bear on this task, loose myself in the task and go right into the zone. Here, with my Energy fully focused, lost in the Zone with my full absorption is where the magic happens. Hours turn to minutes. I learn and retain with amazing speed and clarity.

The next step is the application in focus of this new skill, the practicing of this new skill. Once again I am "applying" my focus (attention/Energy) to the new skill. If I pay a pure positive attention to this application, once again I slip into the Zone and the magic happens. I get Good at what I'm applying mySelf to.

Faith, believing I can do anything I set my mind (focus) to and then the works, which is the suiting up and showing up for the adventure of learning and creating something new. The practice: keeping the "naysayers" at bay in my human mind. "Thanks for sharing, guys, but could you please take that OUTside. Right now I'm busy, happily focusing on this task, this practice, this new skill and while I'm not a pro at it yet, I'm having a really good time learning something new."

We are not "justified" by anything. We need not be justified. We are here! We get to be here! In the body, on planet earth, and we get to create anything we want. The power is in the pure, positive application of the focus of my Energy - my Godchip - my Source Self who is really lovin' every minute of this new adventure.

So get thee behind me, human mind. Get out of My way and take with you your miserable doubts and fears. I have joyous and raucous and boisterous and bodacious creations to manifest, and I cannot be bothered with the diminishing or the division of my Focus Spirit. It goes where I say, as I am sovereign in all things pertaining to me.

This dog wags the tail here, not the tail waggin' the dog.

I think I'll just get about this new creation with great focus and for the pure unadulterated joy of it. Let's just see what I can do next....

Self Reliance

"Trust thyself: every heart vibrates to that iron string. Accept the place the divine providence has found for you, the society of your contemporaries, the connection of events. Great men have always done so, and confided themselves childlike to the genius of their age, betraying their perception that the absolutely trustworthy was seated at their heart, working through their hands, predominating in all their being. And we are now men, and must accept in the highest mind the same transcendent destiny; and not minors and invalids in a protected corner, not cowards fleeing before a revolution, but guides, redeemers, and benefactors, obeying the Almighty effort, and advancing on Chaos and the Dark."

- Ralph Waldo Emerson, Essay on Self-Reliance

http://www.emersoncentral.com/selfreliance.htm

Good Day Everyone!

Seems we will continue today on the heels of the last blog with the theme of speaking your Truth.

I came across Emerson's essay on Self Reliance and chose to quote a paragraph which I have included above. How might you question does this have to do with Applied Spirituality?

Everything, I answer you. Everything.

"the absolutely trustworthy was seated at their heart, working through their hands, predominating in all their being"

The absolute trustworthy is your Godchip, your direct, intimate connection and link with Source. Source of what? Truth. Love. Good. Wisdom. Light. The absolute trustworthy of you is exactly how you are "made in his image" and how we are "all created equal". This Still Small Voice speaks to you softly and quietly, and is only heard if it is your intention to hear It. Your intention is such that you hear it. Your ears whilst listening to all the noise in the world are tuned inward to hear the Truth. This Godchip of which each of us is the possessor is Who We Really Are. It speaks through our hearts, if we are listening with our hearts and not our ears and our heads. This Godchip of yours works through your head if you allow it, then through your arms to create something. And will predominate your being, if you but allow It over the
crush of the human mind, the noise, the chaos. To be glad you have lived at the end of yours days will be determined if you have but lived by listening to your own Godchip and thus living the life of Real.

This morning a friend sent me a link and I had the opportunity to listen to a woman named Naomi Wolf, author of The End of America: Letter of Warning to a Young Patriot http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RjALf12PAWc

I actually listened to her entire speech on YouTube. It matters not that I agree or disagree with Ms. Wolf, what matter is this is someone who is following the guidance of her heart - her Godchip and speaks her truth. Much the same as Pastor Wright. Following that I clicked on another link, that of Keith Olbermann of MSNBC. Once again I found another speaking his Truth with courage and eloquence. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uqxmPjB0WSs&NR=1

What matters, what is significant, are these people who are participating, from their hearts (Godchip) and speaking their Truth.

These are interesting times when John and Jane Doe are awakening from their slumber, their lemming-like behavior of following along with what "they" are doing. Believing "they" will protect me, "they" know best, "they have my best interests at heart" and "they are taking care of it". "They" are not protecting you. You protect you. "They do not know what's best for you. You know what's best for you. "They do not have your best interests at heart. Only you can know what is in your best interest. And "they" are not taking care of it. Only you can take care of it.

In record numbers we are seeing John and Jane Doe's waking up and contributing to political campaigns in increments of $25.00. In record numbers we are seeing John and Jane Doe's buying organic foods, even though they cost more. In record numbers we are seeing John and Jane Doe's picking up their own beds and walking on their own. Emerson would be proud.

Keep moving John and Jane Doe. You matter more now than ever before. Think for yourself. Act from your heart. Believe and know that you are endowed by your Creator with your very own Godchip which is providing guidance to you every moment of every day.

There is nothing to fear. There is nothing to worry about. Unless, of course, you are not listening within and following your own Guidance.

You might want to watch Frank Capra's movie, Meet John Doe. It's about us.
