Personal Consciousness, Common Sense and Current Events

Hello Everyone,

Just when you think you've seen it all as far as lack of common sense, you can be stunned by the latest current developments. One thing that is clear to me: personal development requires conscious application.

Yesterday the New York Times published an article announcing that the FDA will now start irradiating some foods. http://www.nytimes.com/2008/08/22/health/policy/22spinach.html?ref=us

First of all, not enough people die per annum from E Coli or Salmonella poisoning for us to even be concerned about this issue. So why then would the FDA be so quick to want to start such an over kill program of irradiation? This gives one pause to consider such actions. We're going to nuke our food just in case? What I wonder is how much this adds to the price of food, for one. And what does this do to the food, itself, never mind the pesky pathogen.

You know, it seems a bloody miracle that any of us has lived to be the age that we are. I mean when I was growing up nobody had seat belts, everyone rode around in the back of a pick up truck; kids didn't have helmets and knee pads. People canned their own food. Somehow we grew up and lived to tell the tale.

Similarly, for all these years we've been eating dangerous spinach, broccoli, cabbage, tomatoes, peppers, etc. How astounding this is; so much so that the population has grown to the largest numbers ever. E Coli is no threat except as magnified in the media.

Let's have a simple lesson on E Coli. According to Wikipedia:

Escherichia coli (commonly E. coli), is a bacterium that is commonly found in the lower intestines of warm-blooded animals. [including humans] Most E. coli strains are harmless, but some can cause serious food poisoning in humans, and are occasionally responsible for costly product recalls. The harmless strains are part of the normal flora of the gut, and can benefit their hosts by producing vitamin K2, or by preventing the establishment of pathogenic bacteria within the intestine.

E. coli are not always confined to the intestine, and their ability to survive for brief periods outside the body makes them an ideal indicator organism to test environmental samples for fecal contamination. The bacteria can also be grown easily and its genetics are comparatively simple and easily-manipulated, making it one of the best-studied prokaryotic model organism and an important species in biotechnology.

This leads us to the source of an E Coli contamination: shit. The contamination of watershed from cattle feedlots. Improper fertilization. Why do you think you wash your hands after you go to the bathroom? E Coli.

We do not need our food irradiated. The biggest question I have about this methodology is what does exposing LIVE food to radiation do to the LIVE FOODS? Those foods are our source of nutrition. Many of those foods contain important phytonutrients that protect us from other diseases, like cancer. So now the FDA wants to nuke our green foods, because 12 people a year die from E Coli or Salmonella poisoning. This, is fishy business to me.

Wake up people. It's trendy and quite the thing right now to be identified as "green". Do your part to recycle and walk to work. But the substance and essence of "green" is chlorophyll, Life and the nutrition that is imparted to our bodies by the foods we consume.

Already Industrial Farming has lowered the nutritional content of our foods by as much as 60% with practices that actually weaken our food, i.e. genetic engineering, chemical pesticides and fertilizers. Now, they want to irradiate the food, for 12 deaths a year. If you don't think this sounds fishy, you're not paying attention with your Knowing or your Godchip, otherwise known as your Good Common Sense.

Stand back and look at the bigger picture, folks. "Those people" that you voted for and trusted your well being to have gotten us to where we are today. We are sicker than ever before, we are poorer than ever before, and they are promising you what? They throw you an "economic stimulus" check and how far did that go?

If you think - or are you even thinking at all - that "they" have your welfare in mind, you have another thought coming. They are only interested in big business, power, and the John and Jane Does of America are the pawns. You can only be a pawn if you choose to be one. If you allow yourself to be led down a path like a sheep. Sheep, you may or may not know, are really stupid creatures.

They are not interested in fixing something; they are only interested in making you afraid of something and then finding somebody else to blame it on; all the while behind the scenes doing the exact things that will enhance their own private interests. They are not public servants interested in our welfare; they serve power and money and themselves.

So, you're afraid of so many things? That's how you are easily led, by your fears. Let there be an unexplained and difficult to find source for an E Coli outbreak, they ruin the tomato farmer for this year, and then, oh dear, sorry, it was the peppers. Don't you ever question what "they" are feeding you day in and day out? Look here, this is scary. Oh, look there, that's really terrorizing.

This entire last 7 years has been led with one thing at its base: FEAR.

America, we have a heritage of brave and courage people, like you and I. Are we sheep? Can we not think for ourselves and reason for ourselves?

How many people in your own private world do you know are on pharmaceutial drugs of some sort now? Don't you think there's something really strange about that? And why are so many on drugs? They are sick. Why are so many so sick? The FOOD, people, the FOOD!

We'd all best start thinking for ourselves and realizing that WE ARE GOD, NOT 'THEY'.

We have the Knowing, the Intuition, the Source within each of us to chart us a better course, but only once and for all, when we, the people, take back our power by Remembering Who We Really Are.

Wake Up America. For God Sake, Wake Up. I'm hoping we awaken before the November election. Feel the Truth of something, people. Feel the rightness of something. They have told you that you need protection, you don't. They have told you to be afraid. You have nothing to fear. They have told you, "they" know best. They do not.

If you don't want more of the same, You have to awaken and take up your own bed and walk.
Fearlessly. Consciously. It is TIME.

Common Sense: What IS THAT?

Good Morning Everyone,

The more I observe the world, the more I am given to think that if one could teach "Common Sense", you could make a fortune. It seems to be the single thing lacking in almost every area you look.

For years I have had my California State Real Estate License and used it to sell mortgage loans. I began in the mid 1980's selling mortgages and learned from a wonderful older couple, Bob and Lucille Latta.

In those days we had no computers or fax, so loans were hand done, literally. We filled out the 1003 by hand, calculated the disclosure statements by hand, etc. We also learned that the 20% down which was customary was the lender's required equity position in case of default. In other words, generally speaking it cost a lender that 20% to foreclose, re-market and eventually get that property off its books. That was mortgage lending 101.

In those days we did a lot of FHA loans, which are always self-insured, for people with sketchy credit or no credit. FHA loans were a huge pain in the neck because the appraisals always called for some sort of repair to the asset. Imagine that. The lender required a "healthy" asset against its loan. But the success of the FHA program is its test of time. Every borrower paid for his own mortgage insurance against default and the asset was solid. Good, common sense lending. In the conventional market, 20% down insured a healthy bank position in a loan. Good common sense lending.

Right now we're experiencing a huge mortgage lending debacle, as the direct result of departure from Common Sense.

When I began to notice the changes in programs offered by the mortgage lenders about 3 years ago, I had the sense of deja vu to the Savings and Loan debacle of the late 1980's when the Resolution Trust had to bail out the S & L's.

Why would a lender even offer a program of 100% plus financing to anyone let alone folks with marginal credit? A departure for sure, from Good Common Sense. There were lots of explanations for this: that the price of housing was too high for people to afford it, so they had to offer instruments to compensate. But the truth of the matter was that the banks were greedy and decided to speculate in the real estate market much like the junk bonds of the mid 1980's. And it seems in the world of the human mind, greed trumps Common Sense every time.

Common Sense is that which we all have, innately. We are born with it. We know what feels right and good, and what feels iffy and risky. We know by how it feels to us. However in this world we are conditioned by the edicts of "human thinking" which is always lackful. The human mind is conditioned in fear of not enough: not enough money, not enough time, not enough love, not enough health, not enough of the good stuff. So human mind will rationalize right over the top of the whispers of Good Common Sense.

Recently a friend of mind caught up in attempting to buy a house right now because she could cash in on the low prices, made 4 offers on 4 different houses over the course of a month. None of them did she love. But her human mind kept telling her that she had to buy something right now. Eventually someone accepted her offer, which she received with a huge feeling of fear and regret. But her human mind plodded on and told her all the rational reasons why she should complete the sale. She moved in ahead of the closing only to discover that there were significant items wrong with the property and she really didn't like it at all. You might think she backed out at this point? Nope. She was in such fear of missing an investment opportunity that she went through with it. Just before the close she ended up with double pneumonia.

I tell you this story because it is a classic case of going against your Good Common Sense - your Godchip - whispering to you to follow It. It only feels Good. When you constantly go against your Godchip's direction, you move counter to your Good and it feels bad. And done continually, moving against your good, you end up sick and find yourself in situations you don't like.

So now the lenders find themselves in a financial situation they don't like. Many borrowers find themselves in situations they don't like. And borrowers and lenders alike had full benefit of their own Internal Guidance Systems - their Good Common Sense - to have avoided this altogether.
There are no victims here.

So let's begin to resurrect an old fashioned, inborn gift that we all came in with and still have benefit of counsel. Consult your Common Sense - the wisdom offered up from your Godchip which only has your best interests and joy at heart.

Common Sense

"A long habit of not thinking a thing wrong, gives it a superficial appearance of being right, and raises at first a formidable outcry in defense of custom." - Thomas Paine

"In recent days, there is a sense of movement and a sense of spirit. Something is happening in America and people are prepared and ready to make that great leap."
REPRESENTATIVE JOHN LEWIS, referring to growing support for Barack Obama.

Good Morning Everyone!

A magical thing happened yesterday here in Descanso, with only 20% chance of showers forecast, we ended up having the most wonderful snow storm! Yep. Nearly 4" of snow on the ground, much needed moisture in the form of gentle snow, and best of all, a snow day!

Magical things are happening in America, too. John Lewis is quoted above as he, too, notes that sense of movement and spirit amongst the American people. He is referring to growing support for Barack Obama, I refer to the movement, itself.

In recent days the notion of Common Sense has returned to me over and over. So I did a bit of research and read portions of Tomas Paine's, Common Sense published in 1776. His words are in recommendation for a revolution from England as ruler. His words make great common sense, but the movement is what is important to note here as well.

Mr. Paine reveals the reaching for expansion of the American Spirit. Time to throw off the shackles of a superior (England) that would dictate our future and let us become self-determining. His words reflect a shift in consciousness towards more liberty, more freedom, more joy in the reclaiming of our right to create our own future.

With a few alterations to Mr. Paine's text, that "movement of spirit" that Mr. Lewis is referring to is also about the American people's reaching and expansion for more liberty, more freedom and more joy in the re-claiming of our right to create our own future in 2008 and beyond.

Freedom from what? Who has been creating our future? What is the need or urging to take that leap and reclaim what? Our own thoughts, our own minds, our own self-will.

There is the reawakening from a deep slumber of the American people who have let, allowed, and relinquished their thoughts to government, policy makers and the press. For quite some time now we have let 'them' to tell us what we want, what we need, how we feel, how to feel, what's best for us, the state of the nation, the state of the world, and the state of the economy. We have allowed this as simple children. We have willingly relinquished to 'them" ( and there are all manner of 'them' - doctors, scientists, politicians, educators, government, etc.) our innate, inborn authority, knowing and wisdom.

It has only been by the sharp contrasts of the last 7 years and continuing early into this new year of 2008 of continuing gloom and doom, that we are finally able to reach for something that feels much better - taking back our own voices and the willingness to determine our own future once again. Thank you very much!

Mr. Lewis "feels" the stirring amongst the people. "They" don't know any better than we do.
If "they" can cause us to feel so helpless, so scared, so disempowered, then we shall take the lead and return us to our state of joy and all possibility.

When I was growing up the term "American Ingenuity" was a staple. We could do anything when we put our minds to it. We could solve any problem, create any new invention that we might need, we were a hopeful, happy, resourceful and positive people. Over a long period of years, we have become gloomy, pessimistic, fretful, scared, and willing to give over our power to anyone who takes the podium who promises to "make it all go away" or "will keep us safe."

Our love of life and joyous existence has been too stiff a price to pay for "safety". And safety is an illusion when we are kept in a constant state of fear or anxiety. Perhaps not consciously, but intuitively, the American people are moving towards that freedom from .....FEAR.

Keep the people in enough fear, long enough, and they will eventually say, "Damn the fear, I am sick of it. I want joy." Americans are at long last loosing faith in "them". Thank God. The result is a reassumption of their own knowledge, their own wisdom, and their own ability to choose, for ourselves, what direction we desire, what we want to be as a people. We want to be happy again! We want to face our challenges with optimism and a faith in ourselves.

It is only Common Sense raising it's Spirit, at last, and of course. For the Common Sense of each of us is that Godchip within every being. That Godchip that reaches always for joy, for love, for creating and expanding in delight. The human mind can dominate the Godchip for only so long, and then the great ISING of Spirit bubbles up inexorably and demands satisfaction.

We can. We can have a strong economy. We can have prosperity and abundance. We can have peace. We can determine what is best for us and include love in the equation. We can, yes we can. There is nothing that we cannot be, do or have when we focus that Spirit - that Godchip - and align with "It is done."

Good on you, Mr. Lewis for noticing the shifting sands amongst the American People. It is this shift that the pollsters do not count, the politicans cannot feel, and the government is blind to. But it IS.

I saw a bumper sticker just the other day that read, "If the people lead, the leaders will follow." It's an exciting time to watch as John and Jane Doe awaken to their own Leadership within - a Leadership that points to love, that demands creating, that insists on joy, inclusion and infinite possibilities. Oh, indeed, yes we CAN.
