Evolution: It's All About Consciousness

Good Day Everyone!

This morning I read an article in Time.com of a recent scientific study that concludes that mankind is still evolving. Well, no kidding! When did we ever think that we weren't?

What is so interesting to me is that scientists conduct studies about evolution only as it pertains to biology, as if biology and consciousness weren't inter-related. For example, in the study they conclude that due to natural selection, women in Farmingham, Mass (subjects of the study were participants in Framingham Heart Study) will be 2cm shorter due to natural selection over time.

However, no one studied the elements of the choices that were inherent in their selections for mating. Those elements of choice, which reflect the individual's attitudes, beliefs, and degree of awareness (consciousness), are what drove the selection choice initially.

The Evolution of Consciousness

Way, way back, Neanderthal people were highly developed physically. We suppose that they were not mentally developed. However, their choices (consciousness) drove them to hunt and track for food and survive their environment, which made the physicality highly developed.

As 'time' marched on (long stretches of it), their "desires" for easier, warmer, led them to increased awareness for ideas such as fire, wheel, team work, etc. These "new" inventions, led over more large stretches of time to the physical changes right up to current day.

The earth, mankind, the Universe, changes and expands with each and every new desire that issues forth from every single living thing. It is an elegant process, slow and deliberate, which creates the next version of what we see manifested in physical format.

Steve Jones, an evolutionary biologist at University College London says, "Uniquely in the living world, what makes humans what we are is in our minds, in our society, and not in our evolution."

Here! Here! Mr. Jones. Finally!

We are choosing every single bit of our reality from the quality of our DNA to the quality of our fuels. Everything goes into the big mix, and when we come up with something (result) that we don't like, we desire something better, and thus the evolution and expansion of consciousness and physicality go hand in hand. We have the power to change our DNA.

For now, though, it's lovely to see science knocking on the door of consciousness as the thing that drives absolutely everyone and everything.

Evolution of Consciousness

Hello Everyone,

I've been pondering consciousness of recent. Most specifically that America has reached a critical mass of some level that has enabled the first African-American to become our next president.

I'm fortunate to live in the country where the night sky is incredible. My nightly routine is just before bed, I go out on my deck and review my day, appreciate everything that has come my way that day and savor the feeling of contentment that all is right with the world. On one particular my thoughts then began to tick backwards to more recent history, appreciating people that had contributed to this moment: the Beatles, Timothy Leary, Janis Joplin, Jimmy Hendrix, Maslow, John Kennedy, Bobby Kennedy, Martin Luther, Rachel Carson, Joel Goldsmith to name but a few.

Then my mind leaped back in time even further, fueled by the fact that I had just watched the HBO series about John Adams. My mind and heart swelled with the realization that our founding fathers were inspired by a higher consciousness, so much so that they created a government that the world had never seen before.

Then I began to realize that everyone that has ever come before us, has participated in the evolution of consciousness. My parents, your grandparents, all the way back to the first upright human who had a thought of himself.

Then I realized that there is a plan, albeit a loose plan, for bringing this planet and mankind into Light and Life, back into the Conscious Realization of God.

I wish you could have taken the journey with me to feel the perfection of Life. All is well, dear readers. We now take our steps in the journey of Consciousness. Let's reach for the stars.

Happy Birthday Blogger

Good Day Everyone!

I really wish I understood the whole Internet and blog world better. I'm supposing that in time it will seep in like water under the door.

Today I go to blog and find out it's Blogger's 8th birthday. Then I read that if I click on this I will find that....and I end up at Steven Job's site. (fakesteve.blogspot.com). Well, I'm in good company! There's so much out there to read. How do people find time to live life if they're busy reading every one's blog, I wonder.

It's all I can do to get this daily blog done in a thoughtful and meaningful way, to me.

I love the technology. I am daily stunned by what has been created and wonder what yet is to come. Back in the late 90's as things were gearing up, true to my Crab nature, I held back and watched from the sidelines waiting to understand what this "Internet thing" was and how it could impact me and my life.

Then one day a slightly nutty friend of mine, ex Navy Seal with one wire that seems to fly around in his head and make a connection every now and again said, "Kath, it's pure consciousness." Well, I was in. It made perfect sense to me in those terms. Consciousness to consciousness we can now communicate and share what we think, feel, see, learn, know, fantasize, create, doubt, fear. Wow.

I think now, it had to come along because it is representative of the cornerstone of Who We Really Are - Free Spirits all of us. And this wondrous thing, the Internet, is that tool to circumvent anyone who would edit or censure. Now that is a worthy invention. But I think, too, it is simply another step in the evolution of man returning to full connection with Source. It's on the tractor beam path back home.

Think about it. Instantly we can e-mail a thought (with this tool), text message with our phones (another tool) and see videos and pictures or hear stories, lectures, news (with another tool), but what is close is the instantaneous exchange of energy in the various forms.

Next step or future steps? The instantaneous telepathy of the same information without the tools. We can all do that now, of course, but we don't believe it. We doubt that that flash of intuition is "real". So we pick up the phone or write the e-mail to confirm...yes, you do it!
But you already - KNOW.

We are such amazing creatures. We have such abilities that we were all talked out of long ago, but they are there dormant or active in mild ways. But as the consciousness of "us" expands and rises to accept Who We Really Are, we will begin to believe and listen to those extraordinary talents within and stop doubting that we are, each and everyone, God having a human adventure and these "talents" are not, in fact extraordinary, but ordinary.

I've recently come across a television series that I've check out from the San Diego County Library called "The 4400". It's a wonderful peek into the writer's imagination of Who We Really Are and are trying to become. I am really enjoying the show and salute the writer-creator, Scott Peters. Scott is truly letting Source flow through him as is Steve and everyone and anyone who had anything to do with creating the web and Blogger - a special thanks to Google for hosting for me and everyone else a place, free of charge for freedom of speech! Well Done to you all and my personal and sincere - Thank YOU!

We are the Creators. Stop looking elsewhere, you are God.

Evoltion 101

Good Morning Everyone,
I just noticed I've not blogged since Wednesday. Sigh. Life got in the way, me thinks.
Do you remember the fable of the Tortoise and the Hare? For those who don't know this one, it's
illustrated beautifully and simply at the following website:
http://us.penguingroup.com/static/packages/us/yreaders/aesop/index.html

The Moral, of course, is slow and steady wins the race.

I'm in the process of taking a brand new fork in the road. The learning curve on this path is vertical. They should show the tortoise climbing Mt. Everest. And along this tortoise's path are scary things - html tags!, keywords! copyrighting! and the big one...marketing! Another name for Lions and Tigers and Bears, OH MY! I'm mixing metaphors now, but Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz was in no stranger land than I am right now.

But what an adventure! We are never more alive when we have a FOCUS! I love learning something new. I love having a new focus. What I have to tell my human mind is this: slow down and enjoy the process here. There's fun in the details, in the nitty gritty of it. When I can even notice that I'm resisting the process and trying to blast through it, that's the first step in ease.

Now I sit down to the computer and think of it like blocks from the Lego Kit. We're building a castle or a moat, but it's in cyberspace. All these little meta tags and html do-hickeys are Lego blocks and isn't it fun to see what will happen next?

When I start fretting about the time it takes me to learn all this stuff and get it into play, I have to think, "What are you going on about? What could you be worry about now? Money? Timing?"
And of course my human mind is vigorously shaking her head, "Yep, you dope, what else?"

And that's when I laugh. I smile. I breathe. I recall the Life force that is carried on my breath and realize the infinite possibilities, the infinite timing, the perfection of all my good. My good is always there, always here. I am supported beyond measure.

Take this blog site. I had no idea how to get it registered. I simply asked a question on the blogspot board how-can-I? And do you know what? Over 300 people responded to me with an answer to HELP ME. Wow. I don't even know them. But I asked, and you betcha....IT WAS ANSWERED!

So, slow and steady. Breathe. And laugh at the lions and tigers and bears along the way. It's only your human mind setting up a trip wire. Connect, breathe and bring your God-chip in on the trip. It's a whole lot more fun and there's plenty of friends and support along the way. That's Applied Spirituality in action.
